Describe the view from your studio window? Vincent: I can see
my neighbour looking at me through his window. There is a dog
shop with amazing clothes which clients put their pets in. u
SB What is your biggest inspiration? Vincent: Monty Python. I
love nonsense humour overall, and Monty Python produced tv
shows and movies with a unique graphic signature, thanks to
Terry Gilliam. u SB Do you keep a scrapbook? Vincent: More of
a scrapflat. I have a lot of papers which colonize my rooms. u SB
What are your interests outside of illustration? Vincent: My two
little boys. When they come to my home, we are three happy
kids. u SB Tell us about a favourite recent project. Vincent: The
growing serial of Gunk Aliens (six books at this time), a serial
written by Jonny Moon for Harper Collins. It’s a pleasure to
make around 40 black and white pictures for each book, with
silly aliens and a cute journalist. u SB Who is your design hero?
Vincent: A dinosaur, but a tyrannosaurus Rex: Raymond Loewy.
u SB If you could travel back in time, who would you most want
to meet? Vincent: My great aunt, who was a professor of English.
She would be delighted to see that I draw regularly for British and
American clients.
