us about a favourite project you’ve recently completed. Ian: A
massive cut-away of The SS Great Britain in Bristol, a fantastic
job. Did I mention I like ships? u SB What would be your dream
job/commission? Ian: A cut away illustration of a lightship! u
SB Who is your art hero? Ian: Philip Castle, I saw one of his fine
art pieces when I was a youngster and it opened my eyes to the
possibilities of Airbrush Illustration, so much colour and energy
and he painted chrome angels and jets. u SB Who are your
illustration heroes? Ian: I always liked George Hardie and my
old Airbrush tutor Tom Liddell from college. u SB How do you
think a good friend would describe you? Ian: Insanely talented,
perceptive and good looking, but prone to inhabit a rich fantasy
world. u SB If you won the lottery what would you do with the
money? Ian: Re validate my pilots license and buy another Auster
V aeroplane, then let the rest go I think. u SB If you could travel
back in time which period would you visit & why? Ian: 1950’s, the
aircraft I like were a little newer then, everything was developing
and illustrations were more common than photographs, they
even illustrated cameras! u SB What is your favourite graphics
programme? Ian: Cinema 4d.
