u SB What have been the professional highlights of your year
so far? Bill: I’m working on a new animated TV series with Fat
City Films. Storyboarding, writing and character designing. Also
I have a range of Top Trump cards coming out before Christmas,
which I have designed for Big Brother producer Shed Simove. u
SB What drew you to illustration/design? Bill: I was working in
animation drawing other peoples styles. There was a illustrator
who freelanced for the studio I was working for. I wanted more
artistic freedom, and I thought if she can do it, I blooming well can.
u SB How do you get your ideas? Bill: I’m good at problem solving.
Give me a brief and I’ll work out angles to make it work. The best
cartoonists are riddle solvers. u SB Do you collect anything? Bill:
Money. Not very good at it. u SB Do you keep a scrapbook? Bill:
Nope. I had a scrapbook when I was seven focusing on the great
Kevin Keegan. Badly cut out pictures of him hitting Billy Bremner in
the 1974 Charity Shield. Those scissors hurt my small fingers. u SB
Tell us about a favourite project you’ve recently completed. Bill: I
did the Festival Guide. Lots of Cows and sheep to draw, plus some
