I have already illustrated a series of dream books together with Lynne and would now be thrilled to do one in a Gothic style depicting the darker side of dreams. u SB Who are your art heroes? Steinar: Surrealism was an early influence, particularly the work by Dali and Magritte. Then the photorealist movement made quite an impression, especially John Salt who did some stunning paintings of American cars. u SB Who are your illustration heroes? Steinar: The first illustrators that inspired me were Maxfield Parrish , Roger Dean and Chris Foss. u SB If you could travel back in time, who would be the one person you would want to meet? Steinar: Emanuel Swedenborg (1688 - 1772), a Swedish scientist and visionary who could travel beyond the body to the next world.
