u SB What first drew you to illustration and design? Claire:
Seeing the fantastic imagination in childrens’ illustrated books.
u SB Do you have any formal design training? Claire: I have a
BA in Fine Art from Kingston University. I used to make stop
frame animations when studying, but I chose to go back to my
childhood love of drawing for my work. u SB What drew you to
live in London? Claire: The huge metropolis that it is. Anything
goes, people do what they like and dress how they like no one
bats an eyelid. Real sense of freedom, a change from where I
come from; France. u SB Where is your studio? Claire: I’m very
lucky to be able to work from home, in the spare room. u SB
Who are your biggest inspiration? Claire: Independent product
and fashion designers, craft makers. It’s really stimulating seeing
what people are busy making in their studios. So much creativity!
u SB How do you get your ideas? Claire: I go to galleries, the
cinema, museums, book shops. I love to research online or visit
independent shops. There are amazing things happening out
there. u SB Do you collect anything? Claire: I love quirky and old
