Caroline: I always enjoy when people ask for an example of what I’ve done and as luck would have it I can point to the logo on the beer glass they’re holding (London Pride) or pick out something from their fridge (M&S meat). u SB Tell us about the technique you use? Caroline: Scraperboard is cardboard with a thin layer of white clay that is coated with black ink. I scrape away the black surface with a craft knife. u SB Who are your illustration heroes? Caroline: Thomas Bewick, Gustave Doré. u SB Who is your musical hero? Caroline: Muse, empowering on a sluggish day. u SB If you were not an illustrator, what would you be? Caroline: Something similar, prop maker, decorator. u SB If you could visit anywhere in the world, where would you go? Caroline: See my old home in Uganda. u SB Do you have any pets? Caroline: Half of a dog. We do a dog-share thing. u SB If you won the lottery would you continue illustrating? Caroline: Definitely. I get irritable if I’m not drawing or creating things. u SB If you could travel back in time which period would you visit and why? Caroline: Victorian/ Edwardian England.
