Govenor Wolf Visits Local CHIRP Recipients
MetroAction partnered with Lackawanna County to administer the COVID-19 Hospitality Industry Recovery Grant Program ( CHIRP ). Businesses adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in the hospitality or accommodation sectors were eligible to receive up to $ 25,000 in COVID related grants . MetroAction disbursed 170 grants totaling $ 2.465 million dollars to businesses in Lackawanna County .
In addition , MetroAction deployed several small business loans to businesses located in MetroAction ’ s nine county service area .
