The Garden Mediterranean Cafe began as a four-table cafe in West Pittston . Now , the 40-seat restaurant in downtown Scranton cultivates a community of culture , art , and delicious food .
Owners Jo Marie Yamin Ali and Akram Ali created their garden thanks to multigenerational recipes that have been passed down in the family . Like many restaurants in the area , COVID-19 proved to be a challenge for the couple , but like so many other business owners , they persevered and look forward to the future .
