The Scranton Lackawanna Industrial Building Company ( SLIBCO ) develops industrial , office and commercial real estate — including the development of 15 business parks totaling 3,000 acres – and two incubator facilities . Hailed as the national prototype for the community development corporation concept , SLIBCO has also completed seven built-to-suit and renovation projects , totaling more than 1.2 million square feet , and has spearheaded more than $ 2.1 billion in community investment . It also supports a wide variety of state and local programs designed to further sustain the region ’ s ever-developing business climate .
The Scranton Plan , the Chamber ’ s economic development marketing affiliate , works in tandem with SLIBCO to help companies relocate to and expand in our region ; this includes assisting with financing packages , identifying real estate options , and addressing various workforce issues . Built upon a platform of business attraction , sustainment and growth , the overall mission of The Scranton Plan is to create and retain jobs and community investment for Lackawanna County .
