Message From The Chamber
As the first year in a new decade , we faced unprecedented and unexpected challenges last year with the COVID-19 pandemic . The Lackawanna County business community faced hardships like no other but none the less , we persevered .
Through the challenges , though , the Chamber witnessed a tight-knit community grow even closer . We watched in awe as companies pivoted their business models to produce PPE , as organizations set up food banks and donated life-saving supplies to local hospitals , as our hometown essential heroes – especially the healthcare workers – put their lives on the line every day , and as small businesses supported small businesses . The list goes on and continues to this day .
We are also incredibly proud and grateful to our Chamber staff . They dedicated much time to ensure local businesses applied for financial assistance , communicated relevant and timely COVID-19 information , ensured the safety of our Chamber buildings , and made more than 2,600 calls to member businesses to offer support .
We can say with confidence that 2020 was a year like no other , and we are looking forward to the light at the end of the tunnel . Please know that we keep our promise to continue to work hard for you , our members , as we move out of the COVID-19 crisis and ahead to a bright future .
