E LEPHANTS IN THE H OUSE ! SAYDEE WALTON I magine you are a elephant in the wild, with a bunch of. All of those elephants are different sizes. Big and small. If you were an elephant what would you do to survive? Would you work together to survive, or would you be on your own? It’s your choice! This is a picture of an elephant. Toot. This is an elephants herd. Body Parts Elephants need their body parts to survive out in the wild. Without their body parts, they won’t be able to get leaves from trees, or, get water from a pond, river, or lake. They won’t be able to walk without their legs, and legs are limbs and body parts! Trunks are one of the most important body part that elephants need. Katlin, that works at the elephant sanctuary in Tennessee says,”The trunk is the most important! It’s like having a arm, hand, and fingers all in one! Asian elephants have one finger on the end of their trunk that allows them to pick up things as small as jelly beans out of the grass.” Sanctuaries are places where people take care of animals.
