GLIDING,FALLING,HOCKEY!
Aidan R. Ross
There are two halls of fame:one for Canada
and one for America and only thirteen people
are part of both of them. Some popular
records are most goals scored (7) set by Joe
Malone. Most goals in a single season (92) set
by Wayne Gretzky(whom which I hate with a
fire like 1,000,000,000 suns). Most points in
one game (10) set by Darryil Sitler. Those are
only some popular records but there are tons
more. That'll rap up up the records and
standards as a whole so read on to find out
about the Rules of Hockey.

Rules
Imagine gliding across ice, cold on your face.
That is exactly what hockey is. Hockey is a
pretty big sport so let's jump right into it.
Read on to find out!
Standards
As you probably guessed, the standards are
and important part of the game. The first
thing is the rink. The rink is 200' by 85'. The
boards can be 40" to 48" high. Both teams
zones are 75' long. Face off circles (which
there are five of) have a 15' radius. Next up is
the puck. The puck is a hard black disk made
of composite materials. Puck can be anywhere
from 51/2 to 6 ounces in weight. Pucks in the
pro leagues are sometimes shot at the net
over 100 miles per hour. The puck is 1 in.
thick and 3 in. in diameter. Now we will go
on to the records.

The Rules of every game are pretty important.
Without them it would be complete chaos.
This section has four parts: Establishments,
referees, Minor and Major, and Match and
Misconduct. First up we have establishments.
In 1877,the first known rules were published
so everyone had the same rules. Also,in
1888,only 11 years later the first amateur
hockey .
Now we will go to the referees. The referees
are people that enforce the rules making sure
no one steps out of line. Referees do certain
moves to signal penalties. The movement for
delay is have your palm exposed and extend
your non-whistle hand in front of your chest.
Another movement is to punch the open
palm of one hand with the other which signals
boarding. That's just two but there are many
more to learn. Let's go on to major and minor.
