Habitat The giraffe population is decreasing.  They are suffering getting pulled away from families  and getting forced to live in zoos. Julian Fenessy a giraffe expert said,” A mix of habitat loss, habitat fragmentation impacts of war, and poaching. There are only going to be a few giraffes in a couple of years… Giraffes mostly live in Africa because of all the savannahs they have. Giraffe like open plains and tall trees .  Did you know Giraffes love all the Arid land in Africa that is also why you usually see them in Africa where all the savannahs are.  But, sometimes they like to go where there is more trees so they only go to a lot of the dense forests.  The flat land is more safe because giraffe can bump into large trees easily. That’s why everyone should think flat land better than any kind of forests.  Even though it is hard for other animals to walk in tall grass giraffes can do that easily because giraffes are so tall and there legs can just reach over all of the tall grass on the savannah floor. If the giraffe is in Africa it will probably be in the sub saharan region of the content Africa. The tree that the giraffes love is called the Acacia tree that usually found around Africa probably savannahs.  The only reason a giraffe would go on a large hill was if it needed to cross for food or water. How they look     A giraffe has many names during life.  A female is called a Cow and, a Male is called a bull.  The baby giraffe is called a calf. A male 21 Giraffes eat leaves of the high trees with there long necks! giraffe can grow more than 18 feet taller than a African elephant, the second tallest animal on land.  Giraffes have long tongues about 21 inches long to gather their food and, tree branches.   The different bones is what makes a giraffe strong.  The different bones in a giraffe are horns, skull, teeth, neck, back bone, ribs, shoulder joint, hip joint, four legs, wrist bone, hind legs, feet, and a tail but, that is not all there are lots more.  Did you know that giraffe only have seven bones in there neck? Which is the same number of bones we have.       An Okapi is the giraffe’s relative, they look sort of  like a giraffe but, more small and has a interesting but, different type of pattern on there face and there body     A giraffe is like a person because  of kindness eating and drinking.  Some giraffe need your help.  If you see someone or something hurting a giraffe get help as soon as possible please! They have the same amount of life we do. They should get treated the same way that you want to get treated.  Giraffe have NEVER hurt a single person in history! ANIMALS
