Characters
There are six main characters in “Frozen”.
Their names are Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, Hans,
Olaf, and Sven. Elsa is the queen of Arendelle,
and Anna is her younger sister. Elsa has magic
ice powers and is multifaceted, which means to
have many aspects or phases’, like how Elsa is
smart and polite, dangerous and strong, loving
and mischievous, and, most of all, fearful.
They are all quite interesting.
Anna is the younger princess of
Arendelle and represents love. When her older
sister, Elsa, accidentally turns summer into
winter, Anna goes off to find her. She is
fearless, stating, “[Elsa] is my sister. She would
never hurt me.” She is also determined and
optimistic.
Elsa is the older princess and represents
fear. When their parents die, she is required to
become queen. Elsa is poised and regal, but
inside she has a big secret. On her coronation,
she accidentally freezes summer. Elsa has the
power of ice and snow.
Kristoff is an ice harvester. He and his
reindeer Sven were raised by trolls. He is a
loner and says reindeer are better than people.
“My favorite character is Kristoff because he is
Art and Entertainment
the most realistic,” says fan Joel VanLaven,
“...emotionally.”
Olaf is a snowman that loves summer.
He was built by Elsa and Anna when they were
little kids. Elsa later makes him alive. He is
innocent, optimistic, and loyal. He also loves
warm hugs.
Hans is the youngest prince of the
Southern Isles, 13th in line for the throne, over
shadowed by his 12 older brothers. Anna falls
in love with him and the two soon get engaged.
Sven is Kristoff ’s reindeer. He is loyal,
brave, and smart. He is a good communicator.
He has the heart of a labrador.
