Nice fella, this gent makes great ammo in a timely fashion as well. Notes: Some of the Steyr Scouts did not want to feed the ammo, one rifle only fed from one side the magazine. Odd. This appeared to only happen with the Steyr Scout. The engineer from Steyr is aware of this and told me that the other rifles would feed “If you can get closer, get closer. If you can get steadier, get steadier.” The Rule of the Rifleman, per Jeff Cooper this round without an issue. He then shot a .675” group with it! I’m getting 1MOA +/- with the Merkel with it. I shoot 1-2” with my Ruger GSR with Scout Scope. “Today the only true Scout rifles are customized instruments built up here at Gunsite or the Steyr Scouts made at the factory in Austria.” Jeff Cooper, October 2001 Scout Rifle Magazine | -11-
