The Brâncuși

Sculptural

Ensemble

Constantin Brâncuși is one of the most famous sculptors in the world, and it is considered the father of modern sculpture. After his death, he donated a sculptural ensemble to his home-town in Romania, Târgu-Jiu. The ensemble is made of 3 pieces – The Silent Table, The Kissing Gate and The Column of Infinity – which are set along a main street of the city. It is an homage for the young men who, before going to war, would sit down in silence with their families, then they would kiss them and their wives goodbye, and in the end they would become part of the infinity after death.
