Romania is a country located in South-Eastern Europe.
With a population of approximately 20 million people, it is ranked as the 7th country of the European Union, both in size and population.
Whether you think about geography, culture or history, our country has it all!
The landscapes comprise everything from high mountains,
to sunny beaches with fine sands, from muddy volcanoes to the latest land
formed on the continent –
the Danube Delta.
Being located at a crossroads of cultures, Romania is a mix between the Latin background and a lot of different cultural influences such as Byzantine, Slavic, Turkish and Balkanic.
Our history is rich in wars, dominations, riots and plots. All these led to the country having more than 100 castles, fortress and citdels in total.
These are well spread over the three historical regions of Romania – Moldova (East), Transylvania (West and center) and Wallachia (South).
