Hydro Rd
Scopan Loop Trail ( moderate to difficult , 3.5-miles roundtrip , allow 5 hours ) Taken in a counter-clockwise direction the trail remains relatively level as it proceeds to the western boundary of the wetland , afterwhich the trail becomes steep and maintains a rigorous grade until the summit at the north ridgeline at 1,470 feet . The trail continues by dropping slightly down the west side of the ridgeline . The final 1-mile is a steep grade down before leveling out near the trailhead . Access : Scopan Loop Trailhead is on the east side of Scopan . Take W . Chapman Road to the gravel West Chapman Extension , then two successive right turns . Follow signs to trailhead .

Kidder Loop Trail ( easy , 0.5-mile loop ) Begins and ends at the Adirondack shelter near the ATV trail north of Gate # 2 .
Motorized Trails
ATV riders enjoy 30 + miles of trail plus an adirondack shelter for near-trail camping along the north-west foot of Scopan Mt . The campsite includes a picnic table , fire ring and a . 5-mile loop hiking trail , and is close to a stream .
ITS 81 snowmobile trail runs through Scopan along a shared-use road and designated trail . Roads that have multiple designated recreational uses are signed as shared-use . Road users should be prepared to encounter both pedestrians and vehicles . The Bureau does not encourage snowmobiling on lakes or ponds because of potential hazards .
