"A THING OF BEAUTY"....
“A thing of beauty…”
There are some thoughts that keep me up at nights.
But that is for later.
There are some thoughts that are always at the top of my head,
making me wonder if other people care about them the way I do,
or why not, if they don't.
So basically, I always feel that 'beauty' is underrated.
People do not have time to appreciate the beautiful things around them
everyday, (not blaming them), and they tend to crib about a boring and
meaningless life that they lead. I remember coming across a poem in our
Class 12 English Textbook; it was called "A Thing Of Beauty" by John
Keats.
I still remember how I felt after reading that particular piece of poetry, as I
had never been so affected by anything else like that.
Since then, I have always wondered what if we are actually missing a whole
world of beauty in our everyday lives, just because we don't have the time to
stop and observe for a second.
Everything, starting from the beautiful sunrise in the morning, to a dog
walking past you and sniffing your leg, to a random stranger smiling at you,
and to the many people who cross you everyday wanting to say something
nice but not being able to.
We are surrounded by beautiful things that more than often go unnoticed. Of
course, we don't always have the time to appreciate the small things in life,
but we have time to complain about the larger inconveniences. We have
everything we need to be happy and make people around us happy. It's just a
matter of observation and being expressive about it.
Trust me, it's not that hard once you start.
"A thing of beauty is a joy forever. It will never pass into nothingness".
