KNIGHT IN SHINING KHAKI nsung heroes - I find this U phrase paradoxical, because these are the people whose stories and contributions are so loud, but all of them are lost in the noise that engulfing the humdrum of life. Without them, we would be stumbling every day. Getting through the day will be a nightmare, but being able to live without them infinitely will be a whole other story called “My guide to Survive Hell”!  From the sweet “Tea Kadai” Anna to that newspaper boy whose face we never see, from that sanitation worker who works ardently and unknowingly campaigns for the “Swachh Bharat”, to that soldier at the border, these people are the true heroes, whose life documentaries are truly inspiring to watch and listen to.  So, this unsung, unacknowledged superhero is someone, whom every Engineering day-scholar would be ever grateful for; our college Bus Drivers! These people work for more than 12 hours a day, (so do we, but that is a different story!) and do what they are best at: driving us safely to and from college. Let me start with my first day of college. 42 Having heard all the conspiracy theories about how bus drivers never stop for you, and that some of them are rude, I was anticipating my first college bus ride with all those preconceived notions, and after a point, they started eating my head up. But the first impression of my route driver was completely different from what I’d had in mind. From bus driver, he became “Bus anna”!  For those of you who don’t know what the word “Anna” signifies in Chennai, here it is;  Anna is a word emoted with utmost security and brotherhood!  These people are the actual lifesavers! Tackling the bumpy and rough Chennai roads, dealing with heavy traffic with the “pleasant” accompaniment of blaring horns and making sure that we get down from the bus safely, our bus Anna takes us through an adventure every day! It was our first-semester examination. It doesn't matter whether you are prepared for the exam or not; what really matters is that you have your Identity (ID) card and hall ticket.
