Each person has faced discrimination at various levels. For the highly influential people, it has been easy to get through this phase, but for the vulnerable and marginalized? It has been a major challenge. Though untouchability has been abolished, in many a temple, priests do not allow Dalits to enter. It is a grim reality that even now, people oppose inter-caste marriages, let alone inter- religion. 19 People even vow to kill brutally in the name of honour. The ones who are deprived of quality education, and entry into educational institutions due to the influence of corrupt politicians, are actually the ones who deserve to be educated. Talented sports persons are not able to shine, because of the politics and the money involved in the selections. Have you ever wondered why it took so many years for a woman to fly a fighter plane? It isn’t because women aren’t talented or intellectual; it is because of the absence of a platform to be recognized deliberate suppression. This gender inequality exists everywhere. A bill was proposed regarding thirty- three percentage reservations of seats in the parliament for women, and it has not been passed till date. Not just socially, this injustice exists even economically. It’s a common trend that men are paid more than women for the same work in construction sites.
