We didn’t have our lunch and we
couldn’t find any eatery on the way.
After some time, we reached Sholayar,
where the Sholayar dam is located. At
that time we were hungry and our
snacks supplies ran out of stock. We had
planned to stop at the dam earlier.
Luckily, we found a small shop that sold
fried dam fish, near the dam. More than
hunger, we were tempted by the
sight of the fried fish. We relished fried
fish at the backdrop of the sholayar
dam. The fishes were yummy, but for
those who don’t like Cutla, (It has a
little odour than the usual ones) a fish
grown in the dams, then the place is
not for you.
A trip with lots of memories not only
makes you happy at that moment, but
the mere thought of that trip will bring
a wide smile on your face. Traveling is
not just about rejuvenating the mind
but the soul. Some small trips to the
unexplored will certainly gain us new
experiences, new friendships and of
course everlasting memories. A
journey with good food can make you
feel good. A journey with beautiful
memories is soul food. A food which a
soul should not be deprived of.
The landscape of the reservoir was
splendid with the cool weather, which
was like a cherry on top of the cake. We
started from sholayar after spending
almost an hour over there. The view
from the top of the reservoir is a must
do when in Sholayar. The sight of perks
of clouds on the hills is an absolute treat
to the eyes. We reached Coimbatore at
twelve in the midnight. We stopped
and resumed the journey back the next
day. Traveling with family or alone, it is
certainly the best ever rejuvenation a
person can have. A break from the
monotony, it makes you think from a
different perspective.
