Astronomy
is the science that deals with the study of celestial bodies in the
universe, including planets and their satellites, meteors and
comets, stars and interstellar matter, systems dark matter, stars,
gas and dust called galaxies and clusters of galaxies; So he studies
their movements and the phenomena linked to them. Registration
and investigation of its origin comes from the information that
reaches them through electromagnetic radiation or any other
means. Astronomy has been linked to humans since ancient times
and all civilizations have had contact with this science. Characters
like Aristotle, Tales de Mileto, Anaxagoras, Aristarco de Samos,
Hiparco de Nicea, Claudio Ptolomeo, Hypatia of Alexandria,
Nicolás Copérnico, Tycho Brahe, Johannes Kepler, Galileo Galilei,
Christiaan Huygens or Edmund Halley have been some of his
growers.
It is one of the few sciences in which amateurs can still play an
active role, especially in the discovery and monitoring of
phenomena such as light curves of variable stars, discovery of
asteroids and comets, etc.
