Cloning

Cloning is a way of making a twin without giving birth. In natural cloning (mommy’s baby), the sperm cell goes into the egg cell and splits in two. Then when it becomes two separate cells, though they are identical. Which ‘makes’ identical twins. Artificial cloning (in science lab) is almost the same, but in a Petri dish instead of mommy’s tummy.

Another way would be SNCT (Somatic Cell Nuclear Transfer), which I don’t really understand how they do it. I think, basically, the egg cell’s chromosomes (1 set) are removed and the nucleus (already has 2 sets of chromosomes) from a somatic cell took its place. In the embryo (result), the chromosomes (both sets) come from the somatic cell.

I think cloning should be allowed in this world because then, we could cure a lot more diseases. Scientists can clone blood and cure aids or cancer or something. Pretend your liver or some other organ has a disease, and you don’t want your friends to sacrifice their own liver, they can clone theirs and give it to you so that you can live. You do want you and your friends to live.

And if you want, you could even get your own twin without letting your mom suffer through the pain! You could do something fun, like hanging out with your friends while your clone does your homework! Well, cloning can have its disadvantages too.

Cloning has a lot of risks and we wouldn’t know how old our clone might be. It might also bring religious problems to the world because the Pope HATES cloning for some reason. It’s also against nature. The scientists just POOF! and there’s the clone. We might never be able to COMPLETELY clone someone because there might be something wrong with ‘it’. The clone might want things for him/herself. The clone will have feelings and soon enough, it might have a plastic surgery and become another person and take over the world!
