I especially mention its CEO Vic Dobos for his great encouragement. “I strongly urge all primary teachers to become involved in their State Association! You can both enjoy the benefits and return them in kind as you become more experienced. “I believe that making contacts and building relationships in the world of science is really useful if teachers wish their teaching to be more successful. Let parents know about your passion for science and the possibilities for their children, as such collaboration is the key to going beyond the ordinary. Passion for science is contagious, and learning in every subject will be enhanced by science.” Gary’s passion for Science, and collaborative methods were recognised by Professor Joanne Mulligan of Macquarie University, who seconded him to the ‘Opening Real Science’ project funded by the Federal Government This initiative aims to drive a major improvement in the quality of mathematics and science education and outcomes in Australia by engaging pre- and in-service teachers in real science.
