Many people think that they tend to forget things that are not important or not related to people they care about or things they are interested in, but is this really the case? No, it is not. It is actually related to the brain functionality. The brain does not use the lymphatic system which is responsible for removing wastes from our body and filtering it; it rather uses “Glymphatic System”. This discovery was led by University of Rochester neurosurgeon and Professor Maiken Nedargaad. This system “Glymphatic System” uses a fluid named “Cerebrospinal fluid “. This Fluid gets rid of neurotoxins via pathways from the lymphatic system. One of these neurotoxins is “Beta Amyloid”; which is a protein that is found in clumps in the brains of people suffering from Alzheimer’s. The cerebrospinal fluid is secreted when people are asleep. There are as Professor Nedergaad described them “Hidden Caves” that open when people are asleep allows the flow of the fluid which flushes the toxins through spinal column. Therefore students should get enough sleep before exams so that this toxin doesn’t affect the information they memorized. This means that there is a scientific explanation to why people forget rather than that the information is not important.
