This Steinway & Sons piano was described as a " square grand." It was built in 1871 and it sailed below the cape to get to the west coast, and eventually found its way to Chicago.
It has an antique sound that is richer and more resonant than a harpsichord. It was designed to fit into smaller spaces. It predates the current modern style grand pianos that you see today.
It has real ebony and ivory keys that are in perfect condition. It plays beautifully but will need to be tuned once it finds its new home. The piano is in good condition and similar pianos can be found for $ 5,000 in the current condition but, up to $ 35,000 in completely restored condition.
Dimensions: 80 " W x 40 " D x 38 " H. Winner will have to move piano from current location by April 30, 2017.
