As we gather on this special evening to celebrate and support the Science & Arts Academy , we acknowledge and applaud the many devoted faculty , staff , parents , volunteers , and partners who do so much to make SAA the special place we cherish . Our supportive community encourages students to embrace their potential and enables them to cultivate their academic abilities , creative talents , and emotional growth .
Among the legion of supporters who have worked to advance SAA over the years , a handful of individuals stand out for their exceptional dedication and commitment to SAA ’ s mission and core values . The Blue Horizon Award is presented tonight in recognition of such an individual . For nearly twenty years , Mark Anderson has helped shape , promote , and protect our mission to ensure that our current and future students are well prepared for their bright futures .
In 1997 , following an exhaustive search for a school that could adequately meet their four year old son Joe ’ s needs , Mark and his wife Mary selected Science & Arts Academy for
