A shield or a Super capacitor?
The energy absorbed by the shield could then be released in controlled rates which give it the ability to be used like boomerang, one of the Caps's signature moves! - bouncing from one place to another whilst releasing small amounts of energy until it is depleted of the absorbed kinetic energy and finally stops. The ability to store and release energy in controlled rates is that of a battery and a capacitor, making the shield a super capacitor! With just enough technology and the right material, the Cap's shield can be a reality!
