Steve Rogers, a scrawny and frail looking kid who had always yearned to join the US army during the Second World War in 1940, yet did not meet the physical requirements. To his surprise, Rogers was asked to volunteer for project "Rebirth", a plan to mass produce enhanced superhuman soldiers for the US army. With no hesitation, he agreed to become the subject of a "Super Soldier Serum" and controlled amounts of a fictional ray called "Vita Rays" used to trigger the activation of the serum – creating Captain America! With phenomenal agility, speed, endurance, unprecedented strength and superhuman intelligence, Rogers became the ultimate soldier. Although, scientist are yet to identify what exactly was inside this "Super" serum Rogers was injected with, speculations has been made as to how Captain America acquired his powers and what this serum could have been.
