Science twines together with art. The
word science traces from the Latin scientia,
meaning knowledge. That origin explains
why it’s so satisfying for me to continually
pull from ongoing scientific investigations
involving water issues for my own waterbased artwork. Studies as well as collection
tools and apparatuses inspire me. As my
knowledge about water and water issues
expands, so does my excitement to visually
express it. I enter into an artistic method
akin to a scientific discovery process in that
I collect data, deconstruct it, interpret it,
and experiment with how to put it together
in interesting ways.
