There ’ s no doubt that college is an investment , but we have some tips on how to lower the cost :
• Set a budget and stick to it . A budget will help compare anticipated college expenses against your potential available income and financial aid .
• Monthly payment plans and Parent PLUS loans are available to help finance your education . Watch your mail for information on the Tuition Management Systems payment plan or visit afford . com / stevenson .
• If your student is interested in applying for private scholarships they must research and apply for them on their own . The best place to start the research is your high school counseling office , places of worship , or a local club . Many families also consult free scholarship search sites like fastweb . com or cappex . com .
• Once enrolled , take at least 15 credits a semester . This keeps students on a fouryear path to graduation . Up to 18 credits a semester are included in full-time tuition and fees .
