MESSAGE FROM THE DEAN
Thank you for your interest in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Stevenson University , where our motto is : Complex Problems . Diverse Perspectives . Creative Solutions .
Our students major in criminal justice , English language and literature , human services , psychology , public history , and theatre and media performance . We also house Stevenson ’ s unique interdisciplinary studies major , which allows students to combine their strengths and interests into a flexible , customized program of study .
Students in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences participate in integrated learning within their chosen major while also receiving academic and career preparation through a range of experiential learning opportunities . They put theory into practice as they pursue their passions , gaining the knowledge , skills , and abilities to identify problems , ask brave questions , and formulate solutions . Alongside their traditional coursework , our students partner with faculty on research studies , undertake field placements and internships , produce a digital arts and culture magazine , and perform in Stevenson ’ s theatre productions . They leave Stevenson as creative and critical thinkers , prepared for a wide range of careers as social organizers , teachers , writers , entrepreneurial theatre artists , and counselors , among many other professions .
