LEARNING BEYOND
Students in the School of the Sciences programs at SU explore the world beyond the university campus and apply their knowledge and skills through real-life experiences .
CAPSTONE EXPERIENCE
Each bachelor ’ s degree program requires seniors to complete a professional capstone experience in their discipline .
» The senior research capstone is a semester-long research experience in which students work directly with a faculty member on an ongoing research project . Students may work in the laboratory of a Stevenson University faculty member or with a faculty or staff member at an off-campus university , government , or industry laboratory . An honors research capstone experience is available .
» The senior internship capstone is a semester-long experiential learning opportunity in which the student gains professional workforce experience in a science-related field . Students may work in industry , government , educational , or clinical settings to gain experience relevant to their professional interests .

“ My favorite thing about teaching at SU is seeing our students grow both in and out of the classroom . I ’ m so proud of the scientists they have become and love seeing just how curious they are about the world around them . They are a strong group of intelligent , caring , and genuine people .”
