Stevenson University offers a Master of Arts in Teaching( M. A. T.) degree in Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics secondary education with a STEM emphasis. Candidates who successfully complete the M. A. T. program, including achieving passing scores on Praxis I and Praxis II, are eligible for teacher certification in Maryland and in states with reciprocal agreements with the Maryland State Department of Education in the areas of secondary biology, secondary chemistry, or secondary mathematics.
Graduates from Stevenson’ s bachelor’ s degrees in applied mathematics, biochemistry, biology, chemistry and environmental science are eligible to apply for admissions to this graduate program. In addition, students in these majors may pursue a combined B. S. to M. A. T. option( see page 14).
