Stevenson University offers a Master of Arts in Teaching ( M . A . T .) degree in Biology , Chemistry , and Mathematics secondary education with a STEM emphasis . Candidates who successfully complete the M . A . T . program , including achieving passing scores on Praxis I and Praxis II , are eligible for teacher certification in Maryland and in states with reciprocal agreements with the Maryland State Department of Education in the areas of secondary biology , secondary chemistry , or secondary mathematics .
Graduates from Stevenson ’ s bachelor ’ s degrees in applied mathematics , biochemistry , biology , chemistry and environmental science are eligible to apply for admissions to this graduate program . In addition , students in these majors may pursue a combined B . S . to M . A . T . option ( see page 14 ).
