ARIS MELISSARATOS Interim Dean, Brown School of Business and Leadership, B.E.S. Electrical Engineering, The Johns Hopkins University; M.S. Engineering Management, The George Washington University MESSAGE FROM THE DEAN The Brown School of Business and Leadership, named after Baltimore builder Howard S. Brown, opened on Aug. 15, 2008. We build on Stevenson’s strong tradition of liberal arts education and add job-relevant skills in business and leadership. We are committed to giving our students personal attention, both in and out of the classroom, to prepare them for successful careers in accordance with Stevenson’s distinctive Career ArchitectureSM process. The Brown School of Business and Leadership encompasses four departments: Accounting; Business Administration; Information Systems; and Legal Studies. The Business Administration department includes degree programs in business administration, digital marketing, and fashion merchandising. Within our School, students may focus in a variety of subfields such as accounting, economics, finance, management, entrepreneurship, international business, sports management, e-commerce, technology management, software design, network design, computer forensics, fashion merchandising, and our newest program: digital marketing. We encourage our students to take advantage of the B.S. to M.S. degree option, allowing them to begin graduate studies during their junior or senior year. In addition to their bachelor’s degree, this option allows students to earn their master’s degree in business and technology management, forensics or healthcare management in just five years. Our leadership, faculty, and staff are continually keeping abreast of market and technology trends to assure that our program offerings maintain pace with all the trends in today’s globalized economy. As a result, our students are prepared for leadership roles with the skills required to succeed in their careers—even in jobs that are not yet defined. This approach is closely aligned with Stevenson’s Career Architecture process, which ensures that every course is a building block for a successful career. Graduates from all of our business programs are in high demand by employers because of Stevenson’s reputation of providing job-ready graduates. We invite you to visit our campus and the Brown School of Business and Leadership to learn more about our offerings. When you visit, please stop in the Dean’s office for a personal discussion.
