ALUMNUS Spotlight HEALTHCARE MANAGEMENT Master of Science MIKE FEEHELY ‘09 ‘10, CPA B.S. Accounting, M.S. Forensic Studies “Stevenson’s program prepared me for my career in several ways. First, it prepared me to take the CPA exam, which is a major hurdle in public accounting. Second, the accounting program helped develop my interpersonal skills that have helped me communicate with co-workers and clients every day. Finally, I can still talk to several of my old professors for professional and technical advice, and I enjoy maintaining a close connection with my alma mater.” Mike is now a CPA and a supervisor at Hertzbach & Company, one of the leading public accounting firms in the mid-Atlantic region. HEALTHCARE MANAGEMENT The master’s degree in healthcare management prepares professionals to advance their careers in medical and healthcare administration by strengthening their credentials as healthcare managers, administrators, and consultants. Graduates will be prepared for leadership positions in which they plan, direct, or coordinate medical and health services in hospitals, clinics, managed care organizations, public health agencies, or similar organizations. Two areas of concentration are available: quality management and patient safety or project management. This program may be completed as part of the B.S to M.S. option for qualified students. 21
