The accounting program provides graduates with the knowledge required to become successful in today’ s multifaceted business world. With a blend of accounting, information technology, and business, the program helps students understand contemporary work environments, issues, and challenges.
Study emphasizes financial accounting at the intermediate level, cost accounting, tax accounting, auditing, international accounting, business law, and business ethics. During the capstone course, students synthesize their knowledge using a business strategy approach.
The accounting curriculum satisfies all requirements for graduates to take the Certified Public Accounting( CPA) examination in Maryland. In addition to passing the CPA exam, applicants for licensure are required by the State of Maryland to acquire a total of 150 credit hours of coursework. The B. S. to M. S. option and second bachelor’ s degree option are available to help students fulfill the additional 30 credit hours of coursework.
