SCHOOL OF EDUCATION: AT A GLANCE
SCHOOL OF EDUCATION: AT A GLANCE
OVERVIEW OF SCHOOL
The School of Education prepares teachers for classrooms today and tomorrow by providing teacher candidates with the knowledge, skills, and classroom experience essential to excel in an education-based career.
Within the School, each education degree program places emphasis on providing experiences in a variety of school environments, early and often. As candidates advance through the major, they spend progressively more time acquiring classroom experience in their chosen field, while University and school faculty provide valuable mentoring. All candidates study subjects closely related to the major and take courses in technology. Throughout the programs, the goal is to blend the liberal arts with courses within the major to prepare candidates for life after Stevenson. The School of Education prepares competent, caring and highly qualified educators.
