Born on December 2, 1952 in Casablanca, Morocco, Joseph Mimran has certainly made a name for himself in the fashion industry. He has been a key player in fashion for 25 years and is best known for his Club Monaco and Joe Fresh brands. He is a very ambitious designer and intends to establish himself and his brand internationally. He says that,“ if you can get that presence [ internationally ], it’ s a whole other game.” He plans to tackle the challenges that he believes are inherent to being a designer in Canada and succeed across borders. Mimran accomplishes this by having an eye for detail and a strong sense of his own style; as a result, in 2011 Joe Fresh diffused across to the United States and is now featured in six stores
Leah Miller, the master of ceremonies for the evening, is no stranger to playing the
MuchMusic Video Awards and former co-host of MuchOnDemand. In the past she was the host of So You Think You Can Dance Canada. Miller was born on July 20, 1981 and has accomplished a lot in her 31 years. She joined MuchMusic in 2004 and has been working in the industry ever since. Currently she is a correspondent for CTV’ s eTalk. She is the ideal candidate for the host of the International Fashion Festival Toronto 2013 because her years of experience give her an air of professionalism that will serve her well as host.
Elena Bogdanets of Figaro Salon will be the key stylist involved in the International Fashion Festival Toronto 2013. She is the Art Director and Principal Stylist for Figaro Salon and has 20 years of experience in the industry. She has won several awards at Toronto Hairapalooza, ABA shows and Ottawa Capital Cup. With her 9 years experience in Europe and 11 years in Canada, Bogdanets is the perfect lady to style hair and make-up for the IFFT 2013. She encompasses the multicultural ideals of the city of Toronto and the fashion festival. Her talent and top of the line team make her shine as the principal stylist of the show.
