April 11th, 2014

Dear Syrian friends,

we are the students of the class IG and we are so happy to take part to this School Tandem Project as we will have the possibility to know a new culture and to grow up together. For sure we are living an experience we have never had before.

Our school is “Istituto Comprensivo Velletri Centro” and we are attending the first class of the First Grade Intermediate School whose name is “Andrea Velletrano”. It is located in Velletri and it is nice and comfortable. We study a lot of subjects such as Italian, History, Geography, Citizenship, Art, Maths, Science, English, Spanish, Technology, Music, Physical Education (P.E.) and Religion. Moreover, in the afternoon we can attend many other courses such as volleybal, pottery, Music and Information Technology (IT) Labs.

We are 26 students, 12 girls and 14 boys, most of us is 11 years old. Our classroom is big and full of drawings and posters, there is also an electronic board (LIM). How many students are there in your class? What can you see from your window? We can see Piazza XX Settembre (XX September Square) which is one of the many squares of our town. Velletri is about 40 kilometres far from Rome, the capital of Italy.
