"GOD OF GODS"
Summary Scripture:
Psalm 136:2 - O give thanks unto the God of gods: for his mercy endureth for ever.
NOTES
I
t is an awesome thing to hear directly from the Lord. There is
something about His words that can carry you for years. I have had
many such encounters with the Lord over the years; but the latest
visitation was most encouraging and timely.
Tell my people, “They are gods to this world. I have set them so. But
if they will not live as a god in this world, they will not qualify to live
as one in the next.”
Needless to say, this admonition by the Father set off a spiritual alarm
which caused me to fear and tremble. Now, I am truly experiencing the
same godly fear the first apostles lived. My heart melted as I thought
on the awesomeness of our God, but what about my brothers and sisters
in the Lord? Do they understand this great grace; or will they live their
lives in the shadows of turning, forged by false doctrines, or man’s
concepts and religious ideologies?
I want us to be aware that the concept of the saints as gods is not
something I have just come up with. I had nothing to do with it. It is
the essential thread in the common salvation we received of the Father.
It is the mystery of Christ now being revealed to the church; even as
Paul said in Ephesians 3:5. (Which in other ages was not made known
unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and
prophets by the Spirit;).
Let’s take a trip back in time to the mind of God. Have ye not cast
out the priests of the LORD, the sons of Aaron, and the Levites, and
have made you priests after the manner of the nations of other lands?
so that whosoever cometh to consecrate himself with a young bullock
and seven rams, the same may be a priest of them that are no gods (2
Chronicles 13:9).
The first thing we must acknowledge is God demanded that Israel
have no other god before Him. But more than that; we see God never
acknowledges any of the idols they and other nations made with their
hands as gods. In fact, He said they are not gods. Know ye not what I
