The Blood of the gods
CHAPTER TWO
Spirit has become blood relatives of God.
THE COMMUNION OF THE BLOOD
1 Corinthians 10:16
The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood
of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the
body of Christ?
We have been brought into the communion of the blood of Christ.
This communion is right here and right now. The word ‘communion’
speaks to fellowship. Indeed, our souls did drink of the blood of Jesus
at salvation, sanctifying us. However, the communion of the blood of
Christ speaks to much more than that.
Remember, our bodies have become a new man by the presence of
Christ in it. The flesh and the blood belong to Christ. Let us be clear,
it was the sprinkling of the blood of Jesus on our conscience which
established our kinsmanship with God. Jesus has once again been
positioned in flesh, however this time the flesh He is positioned in is
our own; nevertheless His purpose remains the same – He is here for the
suffering in the flesh, even unto death.
2 Corinthians 4:7-11
7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the
power may be of God, and not of us.
8 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed,
but not in despair;
9 Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;
10 Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that
the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.
11 For we which live are always delivered unto death for Jesus’ sake,
that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.
Once again, I reiterate that our bodies and the very blood in our veins
belong to and are for Christ. Our blood has been made for the glory of
the Lord. With that said, it has been predetermined that they who are
Christ be baptized into His suffering.
Paul’s testimony was that he always bore about in his body the dying of
the Lord Jesus. This is such a powerful statement. He is saying that by
his body, the Lord Jesus Christ is suffering again. This is confirmed in the
life Paul lived. He was constantly beaten, abused, mocked, threatened,
