Bioactive Chemistry
My research group specializes in bioactive drug discovery, aiming to address critical health challenges such as bacterial infections and metabolic disorders, including diabetes and hypertension. Our recent work centres on the design and development of bioactive nanocomposite materials for biomedical and pharmaceutical applications.

My expertise spans bioorganic chemistry, biomaterials engineering and translational research, with a focus on using natural and sustainable compounds to address unmet health needs. Our recent work has led to industry-linked and award-winning innovations in biodegradable hydrogels and multifunctional nanocomposites, which have demonstrated commercial potential in areas such as wound care and dermatological therapy.
I am also active in science communication and interdisciplinary collaborations, with experience leading projects that bridge academia and industry. I am particularly interested in materials that are scalable, costeffective, and environmentally responsible and welcomes opportunities to collaborate on applied research with clinical, industrial or regulatory
relevance.
