CHEMISTRY AND MEDICINAL CHEMISTRY | 9 Course Information Our degree programmes offer students the chance to build up excellent subject knowledge, and develop their skills through high quality teaching and innovative assessment. Our courses place heavy emphasis on professional skills including oral and written communication skills, practical and analytical laboratory skills, problem solving and other graduate attributes. We believe that 21st century chemistry graduates must have an extensive portfolio of skills, both subject specific and transferrable, in order to be competitive in finding a career. All of our students will have the choice to undertake a research project in their final year under the guidance of an academic member of staff. MChem Chemistry MChem Chemistry with Medicinal  Chemistry This is a four year programme for those aiming to establish a career in chemistry. In addition to selecting from a range of chemistry modules, the highlight of the final year is a major research project, working alongside postgraduate and postdoctoral researchers. Aiming for a career in pharmaceutical research? You will study a range of chemistry and medicinal chemistry modules with electives in biochemistry and complete your degree with a medicinal chemistry research project in your fourth and final year. BSc Chemistry BSc Chemistry with Medicinal Chemistry Our Single Honours BSc programme allows you to select electives alongside core and optional chemistry modules. BSc Chemistry Combined Honours You will study chemistry alongside another subject over three years. International Year An international year with a partner institution can be integrated in to all of our single honours courses. A three year Single Honours BSc programme which allows you to specialise in medicinal chemistry choosing options in medicinal chemistry and pharmaceutical analysis. BSc Medicinal Chemistry Combined Honours You will study medicinal chemistry alongside another subject, over three years. Royal Society of Chemistry Accreditation Our MChem and BSc Chemistry and Chemistry with Medicinal Chemistry are currently undergoing accreditation by the Royal Society of Chemistry. All graduates will be eligible for admission to Associate Membership (AMRSC) and MChem students will fulfill the academic requirements for Chartered Chemist (CChem). keele.ac.uk/chemistry
