Research Clusters & Platforms

The RESEARCH direction is guided by the School ’ s mission to make a meaningful impact on the way business is conducted by engaging in high quality research with key industry players and other change makers .
In 2022 , the School of Business established three multidisciplinary research clusters with the aim to address contemporary challenges of the 21st century by elevating the discussion and finding innovative solutions that promote sustainable economic , social and environmental development .
OUR RESEARCH CLUSTERS
Sustainable Business Leaders : A / Prof Adnan Trakic
Sustainability drives business success and it creates a positive impact on the society and environment . The cluster provides a platform to explore a wide range of issues that underpin how socially responsible business can be conducted , specifically on the following areas of interest : ( i ) Socially Responsible Business , ( ii ) Energy Justice and ( iii ) Responsible Education .
Digital Transformation Leaders : Prof Keshab Shrestha
Digital transformation is our future . It leverages big data and digitisation in transforming business processes and decision making . Attention is given in exploring the way individuals , businesses , and societies create value using data and technology through education and research . The areas of interest include ( i ) FinTech , RegTech and SupTech , ( ii ) Digital Business and Innovation , and ( iii ) Data Analytics and Modelling .

Gerontechnology Lab Leader : Prof Teh Pei Lee
Our researchers are translating research into age-friendly products and services so that the older community are empowered to live an active and independent lifestyle . The Gerontechnology Lab also contributes to shaping a more inclusive public policy for geriatric healthcare while serving as a centre for education and training , as well as assessment and consultation concerning gerontechnology , home safety and independent living environment .
Thriving Communities Leaders : A / Prof Grace Lee Hooi Yean
The ‘ good life ’ is a basic right of every living citizen . Any citizen deprived of access to ‘ good life ’ is considered marginalised and vulnerable . This is the challenge of how we live well individually and as members of our community . As a catalyst for transformation , this cluster seeks to shift marginalised communities towards becoming thriving communities . Areas of interest include : ( i ) Economics and Policy , ( ii ) Consumption , Community , and Technology , and ( iii ) Entrepreneurship .
