A Closer Look

T
he trip to the KCACTF Festival has become an
annual feature of the theater program at SBU.
For both theater students and faculty, the festival offers a wealth of information, collaboration and artistic communion.
In January 2013, eight St. Bonaventure theater students
travelled with Dr. Ed. Simone and Becky Misenheimer to
the KCACTF (Kennedy Center American College Theater
Festival) Region 2 Festival in Towson, Md.
“You get to see work from other students elsewhere.
You get to see what ideas other people have and what’s
important to them. You see how your work stacks up,”
said Simone, professor of theater and director of the university’s theater program. “I’m always pleased that our
work is excellent, even compared to schools with larger
programs.”
Held on the campus of Towson University, the five-day
event featured invited productions from colleges across
nine states; workshops for actors, technicians, and professors; acting and design competitions; and a keynote
