Braswell Bengals retire number
68 at inaugural ‘tailgate’ for
athletic complex namesake
During the dedication, Coach Cody Moore presented the
Carrico Family with a jersey signifying that his number
is officially retired from the Braswell Bengals. Family
members include: Marla Carrico, Jay Carrico, Happy Carrico,
Dee Carrico, Jayme Carrico and Joy Carrico.

Braswell’s name.

complex would bear his name, Coach Carrico said,

(Braswell). I’m a little older, but we did a lot of things
together, always talked about how to do things
right and live our lives right… It’s a tremendous
honor that we’ll always share.”
Coach Carrico served as a teacher and coach for
Denton High School from 1962 to 1974, assistant
principal at Strickland Junior High (now Strickland
