The appeal of experiencing an alternate reality through drugs appeals to many. More and more of my friends I found were trying drugs, something happening below the surface that I had never seen before. Hardcore drug culture was unappealing to me but the community and bonding experience from such an undertaking was something I wanted. The act has been made mundane from casual use in television, even in shows like How I Met Your Mother, to the people around me. The excitement and anticipation are all fun, but there's a side effect. For those who think about their future, no matter your opinion on drugs, it's still illegal in the eye of the law for people our age. Fun times will be tarnished with the fear of being caught. Just know: it's truly overrated. The warm and fuzzy feeling can still be achieved otherwise, and there are many less illegal things one can do to feel that adrenaline. High schoolers are idiots, don't take everything your classmates say as fact. That includes you and I. You may not always be right. So if you do this, be as safe as possible. And hey, have fun, enjoy it while it lasts; they don't hand out drugs in jail.
