1 2 3     An interview by pupils of Coedpenmaen Primary I’m Miranda, I run a business called Talking Social Media which helps people in other businesses to use social media to do their marketing and to make more sales. I train people on how to use things like Facebook and Twitter and LinkedIn and, a lot of the time I help people who are a lot older than you, who might not really know how to use smartphones and Facebook and a lot of other social media platforms. I help teach people that are probably more your grandparents age to use modern technology like that. What’s your favourite icecream flavour? A great question! Raspberry Ripple, definitely. Why did you decide to be a Director? Being a Director basically means that you’re the owner of a company, so I suppose I set up my own company because I knew that no one else was really doing what I could do. There’s not many people who do social media for a living because it’s quite a new job, so I decided to do it – anyone can be a Director, it just depends on what idea you have! How old was the oldest person you’ve ever taught to use technology? One of my first clients I think she was in her 70s. She was really good, she was brilliant at Facebook because she was naturally very communicative and chatty – so it was really just teaching her how to use all the buttons! What’s the biggest promotion you’ve ever done? I have a twitter account that I run for a project of mine which is a speaking event, people come along and do talks. It reaches around 1 million people every month and it has about 10,000 followers on the account…so that’s quite a big one, and it means we can sell out every event we run for it! What did you want to be when you were younger? I’ve always flicked between lots of different things, I like writing so I thought about being a journalist. When I left primary school I told everyone I was going to be Prime Minister…I wanted to be a vet at one point as well…so lots of different things! On a scale of 1 – 10 how excited are you about Christmas?
